El presidente regional de Arequipa, Juan Manuel Guillén, fue el primero en firmar los padrones que el Sutep hace circular y en los que exige la derogatoria de la Ley de Carrera Pública Magisterial. "Este es un acto democrático y ojalá que el Congreso reevalúe, convoque a los dirigentes y considere la situación económica por la que atraviesan", dijo Guillén. Hámer Villena, secretario departamental, señaló que la región y los docentes alistan un pronunciamiento conjunto.
